Purpose of the position- Responsible for line management of the ROC Shift Manager group who operate and monitor remote plants on a 24 hour basis in a safe and cost effective manner in order to meet tonnage and bulk customer demand. This includes managing the recruitment, training, and development of the ROC Shift Managers.
- Directly responsible for the management and delivery of operational plant KPI’s and production targets within the ROC by building a close working relationship with the ROC Plant Performance Managers, peer group of Tonnage Site Managers and the Product Supply Management group.
- Directly supporting ROC Shift Manager group during normal operation, plant start-ups and shut down situations, problem-solving, acting in accordance with emergency plans and incident reporting.
- Develop and maintain a credible working relationship within peer group and branch operating teams whilst delivering business targets.
Principal responsibilities
- Daily review of ROC Shift Manager Handover Sheets, E-log events and monthly review of KPI’s.
- Identify and effective communication within the business of daily significant issues and exceptions, taking corrective actions if process related, if not ensure appropriate parties rectify.
- Development of appropriate relationship between site and ROC Shift Manager teams.
- Manage turnover of ROC Shift Manager group through appropriate contingency / succession planning.
- Manage the shift rota to ensure adequate availability for routine, non routine and 24/7 cover arrangements.
- Demonstrate the operation of ROC to customers and management on visits to ROC.
- Provides information, briefings and reports on out of hours situations.
- Understand power contract and work with PSM to set power targets.
- Responsible for trouble shooting problems, compiling reports and recommendations personally or with the support of the platform teams, ROC Plant Performance managers and ROC Shift Manager group.
- Support and implement the Branch Emergency Action Plan and implement the Branch Emergency Procedure if required. Train the ROC Shift Manager group and assess competency to deliver this function.
- Competent to implement the Branch Emergency Plan at Brinsworth which could even result in leaving the ROC to provide physical support to the Brinsworth site. Train the ROC Shift Manager group and assess competency to deliver this function.
- Liaise and manage with the Delivery Planning Centre the Liquid Support Plan for the plant during plant outages to maintain customer supplies.
- Manage ROC Shift Manager group to participate in plant commissioning at site, Branch Engineering Audits, site familiarity visits and plant testing.
- Training, development and appriasal of ROC Shift Managers.
- Be personally signed off as competent to operate all ROC remotely operated sites.

Plant commissioning / branch operation experience is an advantage
Strong relationship management and teamwork
