An opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer based out of our Cambuslang site.

The purpose of this position encompasses two main activities, specifically:-
Project Management: To project manage cryogenic and non-cryogenic industrial and medical gas installations at BOC and customer sites, in compliance with legislative & BOC standards.
Engineering Support: To provide engineering support to the business through assistance to account managers and BOC customers. Key responsibilities will include:

Undertaking engineering surveys at BOC and customer sites to determine project scope. This will include all necessary legislative work such as safety distances, risk assessments, PED. ETC. This includes both new installations & modifications to existing.

To prepare system designs using standard design criteria, prepare project cost estimates & engineering proposals. To liaise with CES technical department and applications department if more detailed design are required.
On receipt of customer order, plan project, finalise system design, agree installation dates, specify and procure the materials and resources
To act as the focal point for projects and to co-ordinate the activities of both the project team and other involved parties, including branch personnel, Delivery Planning Centre and Account Managers.
During installation, ensure that safe working practices are followed & the project is completed to time & cost targets.
To test, commission and hand-over the project to the end-user and provide a full package of user documentation to enable safe operation and maintenance of the installation.
To provide training to the customers.
To carry out a project review to ensure project file is technically correct satisfying all BOC procedures. Review and reconcile project costs before issuing to the Project Manager for project close off.

To be considered for this position successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Your background, knowledge & experience
You will be a chemical or mechanical engineer with significant project management and general engineering experience.
A knowledge of cryogenic and no cryogenic supply schemes will be desirable, but is not an essential requirement of the job as training in this area will be provided.
A supporting discipline in mechanical, electrical or instrumentation engineering is required.

You will also possess excellent skills in the following areas:
Problem-solving
Cost Analysis / Feasibility Studies
Negotiating with suppliers and contractors

Finally, you will be a good team player and behave safely and have a strong working knowledge of Safety Legislation.
