Linde Canada is currently seeking a Buyer to join the team in our Mississauga, Ontario office.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the Buyer will be responsible for the purchase of Cylinders, Bulk Gases and Services for LifeGas Centers. This individual will work both independently and in collaboration with the category and regional leaders to achieve best in class status for the team.
Job Responsibilities:
Negotiation and Management of Spend
Analyze internal demand requirements and external market condition to identify areas of opportunity and improvement.
Lead sourcing efforts with Internal Customers and External Vendors globally and regionally.
Coordinate with global buyers where appropriate and ensure North America representation and compliance with global contracts.
Issue RFX, perform bid comparison and vendor evaluation, coordinate with Legal, and ensure on-going contract compliance.
Action MRP and Plant requisitions.
Extend materials to the LifeGas Plants.
Reporting and Compliance
Ensure compliance to all policies and processes.
Report savings and compliance metrics monthly.
Report supplier KPIs each quarter.
Maintain pricing, specification and supplier databases.
Action weekly delinquency report.
Process Improvement
Continually access and improve sourcing and commodity management processes.
Drive regional efficiency improvements through automation and process simplification.
Serve as the procurement departments lead to ensure compliance to processes and procedural requirements.
Manage and continually access and improve supplier performance.

Minimum Qualifications:
Four year degree
Minimum 3-4 years in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
Applicable category specific experience a plus
C.P.P. or equivalent
Six Sigma certification is an asset

Demonstrated ability to lead change and maintain high standards
Solid interpersonal skills
